As 2024 draws to a close, we’re taking a moment for reflecting back on 2024 and being grateful.

During the past few weeks, Luke needed to shift his focus from home reno and blogging to care for his ailing mother. As a consequence, he also battled a bout of shingles. If you are over the age of 50, we strongly urge you to get the shingles vaccine. Luke is now the 3rd person we know under that age whose had shingles. We wish he could have received the vaccine earlier.

Looking back…

While it’s been a rough few weeks, we are grateful for our new home, our new kitchen and remodeled back deck.  These two projects were instrumental in setting the tone for our home design and decor and have made such a difference in our mission to make home happy! We’ve now hosted family for Thanksgiving and Christmas for the first time and had so much fun doing that!

We even went to a local tree farm and decorated our first Christmas tree with the help of our neighbors who brought lots of Coquito and good cheer!

Looking ahead…

With 2025 around the corner, we are eagerly looking forward to concluding our main bathroom /  closet reno early next year.  We also plan to replace the worn down front door landing and asphalt walkway later next year.  There is also a living room wall to design, staircase and hallway to repaint, and an office bookshelf with cabinets to build. We have rooms to fully decorate, rugs to layout and artwork to hang.  There is much to look forward to in 2025 as we continue to renovate our home.

Reflecting back on 2024, we have much to be grateful for. We hope you have a joyous, healthy and Happy New Year!
